
X-ray
Ionising radiation is used in X-ray investigation. The dose of required ionising radiation differs between investigations and the patient’s anatomy. The X-ray investigation produces an X-ray image that is used by the radiologist or attending doctor for further treatment-related decisions. The attending doctor refers to an X-ray and a referral letter is necessary (also for a paid service). X-ray investigations are not allowed during pregnancy without an emergency medical indication.
