Osteoporosis or bone loss is a silent disease, that frequently has no symptoms until a bone breaks. 

Screening for osteoporosis is recommended, if you are aged 50 and older or have questions about your bone health. Your concerns will be answered with Medicum Osteoporosis Risk Assessment package. This comprehensive package consists of four services aimed to provide you with clarity and sense of security:

• bone density scan (DXA scan)
• screening questionnaire for osteoporosis risk assessment
• consultation with a rheumatologist, where your results are reviewed and you will be provided advice on self-management and follow-up by the doctor. If necessary, doctor can order further tests or prescribe treatment tailored to your diagnosis.

In addition, you will also get the results of your body composition analysis, that offers a more detailed overview of your health. 

Identifying the risk early allows you to take the necessary steps to prevent bone loss.

For the convenience of the patient, the functional DXA scan, questionnaire and consultation with a rheumatologist are merged into a single visit, which lasts in total about 45 minutes.

DXA [Dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry] scan is a fast and safe procedure, that uses low dose x-rays to measure osteoporosis risk and body composition. It is not recommended to undergo this test more than once a year.
