Medicumi kirurgid viivad läbi päevaravi pisioperatsioone ehk pindmiste haavade kirurgilist korrastust.
When should you see a general surgeon?
General surgery covers the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the skin and soft tissues, the breast, the gastrointestinal tract, the abdominal wall, the circulatory system and the endocrine system.
It is worth consulting a general surgeon if you are experiencing any of the following conditions:
- skin and soft tissue tumors – birthmarks, skin tags, skin tumors, lipomas, atheromas and other formations
- hernias: inguinal (groin), umbilical, femoral, abdominal wall and incisional (scar) hernias.
- gallstones
- hemorrhoids
- varicose veins
Common procedures performed by general surgeon:
- minor surgeries
- surgical treatment of superficial wounds
- day surgeries (day case)
We carry out minor outpatient surgical procedures and the treatment of superficial wounds on the spot during consultation. If necessary, we refer patients for additional examinations and consult with other specialists.
We provide day surgery services at the surgical unit of our partner, Ülemiste Kirurgiakliinik AS (Aurora Clinic), at Sepise 7, Tallinn. Operations are performed by general surgeon Dr Meike Pärn. The operation is preceded by a consultation with general surgeon.
