When is it a good idea to seek nutrition counselling?
The consultation is open to anyone, who wants to focus on addressing their eating habits and receive personal recommendations.
Nutrition counselling helps you understand your current eating habits, set realistic goals, develop healthy sustainable habits and support lifestyle changes without extreme restrictions.
Content of the visit
Many health problems can be alleviated and prevented with a balanced diet. However, the nutritionist does not treat or diagnose any diseases. In case, that you have a medical diagnosis, the nutritionist will consult you on healthy nutrition but will not prescribe any disease-specific diets (This is done by a dietician).
During the appointment, the nutritionist may:
- Analyse your food diary and lifestyle
- Identify nutritional gaps
- Explain the basics of good nutrition
- Create a personalised nutrition plan (daily or weekly)
- Provide recommendations on physical activity
- Share practical recipes and guidance on portion size
- Collaborate with other specialists, if necessary.
Consultation consists of body measurements, an explanation of the basics of a healthy diet and nutritional recommendations based on the analysis of the food diary.
