Procedures
Nerve block injection (targeting nerve or area around the nerve)
Nerve block injection is a procedure that involves administering a local anaesthetic, together with an anti-inflammatory drug (if necessary), to relieve pain and/or to determine its cause. The procedure is used for therapeutic and diagnostic purposes, as it allows targeted treatment of a specific nerve or nerve plexus, thus reducing pain across a larger area.
Before the procedure, there will be an appointment with the doctor. The doctor will assess your health status and decide, whether the procedure is necessary.
Examinations
Computed tomography (CT)
A CT scan enables doctors to obtain layer-by-layer images and visualise human tissues such as bones, organs, blood vessels and soft tissues. This helps to diagnose diseases, monitor treatment, assess injuries and guide surgical procedures.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
An MRI scan produces two- to three-dimensional images of the nerves, muscles and soft tissues of body’s internal organs. The examination allows doctors to accurately identify potential changes in organs and to diagnose various diseases. It is important to note, that an MRI scan does not use ionising X-rays, making the procedure safe and painless.
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the appointment time to allow sufficient time for preparation.
X-Ray scan
X-ray examination is a widely used diagnostic tool, that uses X-rays to ‘look inside’ a person and produce a digital image (X-ray). From this image, a radiologist and/or doctor can obtain the information needed for the patient’s subsequent treatment. Patients are received on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to a referral letter.
Ultrasound
An ultrasound scan (sonography) is used to examine, for example, the abdominal region (gallbladder, liver, pancreas, kidneys), the neck, blood vessels and blood flow, as well as muscles and joints. The scan assesses the shape, size and structure of the organs, as well as the direction and speed of blood flow in the blood vessels.
