X-ray

An X-ray uses ionizing radiation. The dose of required ionizing radiation differs between procedures and depends upon the patient’s anatomy. The X-ray procedure produces an X-ray image that is used by the radiologist or attending doctor for further treatment-related decisions. The attending doctor requests an X-ray and a referral letter is necessary (as well as for the paid service). X-ray procedures are not permitted during pregnancy without an emergency medical indication.
